Hiking

The House of the Bosnian Language is a permanent museum dedicated to the rich history of the Bosnian language and the culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The museum's permanent exhibition consists of two parts. The first part presents content (charters, epigraphic inscriptions, letters, manuscripts, and printed books) from the Charter of Kulin Ban (29 August 1189) to the 1994 Constitution of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, when the Bosnian language was officially reinstated after its abolition in 1907.

The second volume is dedicated to the author of the first Bosnian-Turkish dictionary, Muhamed Hevaija Uskufi, known in the literature as Maqbuli Arif and/or Potur Šahidi. Written in 1631, this work represents a valuable work in the field of Slavic linguistics and a true asset in the history of Slavic studies. This dictionary constitutes material evidence and a cultural monument of the centuries-old cultural past of the Bosnian language and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
