The Rotehorn City Park is one of the most beautifully located English landscape parks in Germany and the green heart of Magdeburg on the inner-city Elbe island.
Historical background
Already in the early 19th century, the east side of the island was used as a bathing beach after the Cracauer weir was built in 1819. In 1871, the city's magistrate decided on the horticultural design of the previously undeveloped southern area of the island.
