The bridge over the waterfall spans the Old Elbe in Magdeburg and connects the eastern district of Cracau with the western Rotehornpark, which lies on the Elbe island of Grosser Werder. The building stands above the Cracauer weir, which is also called Cracauer waterfall. After about a year of construction, the pedestrian and cycle bridge was opened to traffic on 1 December 1997.
