On an old fortress wall right next to the entrance to the pilot port in Vlissingen this lighthouse tower can be found. The 10 meter high lighthouse carries since 1891 a beacon that is 17 meters above the mean sea level. The beacon in the colors white, red and green has a range of 12, 10 or 9 nautical miles.

The Vlissingen lighthouse is a lighthouse on the Keizersbolwerk in the Dutch city of Vlissingen. It served as a sector light. In October 2022 (or earlier) the light up function will become a red light Iso R 3 seconds. The name of the light is now Boulevard de Ruyter.
The original turret was built in 1891. Initially it had a very small lantern. After 1900, a much larger lighthouse was placed on the tower.
For years there was a wooden lookout post with a balcony on the first floor for the Belgian Pilotage Service, to keep control over shipping traffic on the Western Scheldt.
The cast iron chair was replaced by a sheet iron replica in approximately 1990. The light house has been preserved.
In 2013, the stationary Fresnel optics were replaced by an installation with LED lighting.
