Geographical Center of Hesse (Mücke-Flensungen)

There are several benches, a fountain, information boards about mining in the area and the center stone.

The Hessian center, like the center of the Federal Republic of Germany until the time of reunification, is in the Vogelsberg district. It is one of the points that is very easy to reach. Because it is located right at the entrance to Mücke in a curve on the B 276.

The center of Hesse has now been redetermined using a modern measuring method and is located just before the district boundary to Grünberg in a potato field on the Stockhäuser Höhe. That's at least around one kilometer as the crow flies from the center stone set in 1983 on the outskirts of Flensung.
