In 1907, at the same time as the Weickartshain pit, just a few hundred meters to the north, the Louise trade union began building an ore processing plant at this point. The facility was created under the direction of the director of the company, Carl Scheffzick, and was considered the largest in the Vogelsberg mining area at the time.
