Successor to one of the 14 Slavic churches of Charlemagne.
The crypt under the choir is dated to the 11th century.
The Gothic style church has an ossuary and was at times a pilgrimage destination.
In 1354 the bones of St. Sigismund were laid out there for one night when they were to be transferred to Prague. An arm of the former Burgundian king stayed behind in Seussling.
