Protestant Church Simmertal

As early as the 16th century, industrialization came to Simmertal with an iron hammer mill. Ludwig Böcking took over this from the Wildgrafen at the time, a little later it came into the possession of the Elbertzhagen family, whose name still stands for a foundry for iron, bronze, brass and aluminum.
Leather factory, sawmill, brickworks and quarries provided numerous other jobs. The listed Villa Elbertzhagen at Simmerhammer, which unfortunately was badly affected by the floods in the 90s, testifies to the prosperity. The dilapidated building was foreclosed in 1996 and fell into disrepair. A Russian couple only bought the villa in 2014 and began the extensive renovation, which is currently on hold.

Tip: A little hidden there is a parking lot at the community center, which hikers can also use. Otherwise there are hardly any parking spaces in the historic city center.

Simmertal is a municipality in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate. It belongs to the community of Kirner Land. Simmertal is a state-approved resort. [2] Until 1971 the community was called Simmern under Dhaun.
