Usually freshly beaten birch trees are attached to Whitsun on the doorstep. This is handled differently depending on the region. This freshly cut tree is decorated with ribbons, flags, bows, figures and a crown. In some areas, the trees are set up in front of the houses where single women are. On the other hand, these trees are stolen after setting up by the young men of the neighboring village. This tradition has been handed down by the Teutons, who wanted to protect themselves from the evil spirits by setting up the tree.
