This section is particularly suitable for mountain bikes, as there are many uneven paths and lots of loose sand, which pose a real challenge for trekking bikes. The heather that blooms in season is beautiful, but cycling quickly becomes a challenge and a disaster if you don't ride a mountain bike.
At weekends, there is hardly anything to do, as the paths are heavily frequented by pedestrians and horse-drawn carriages. It is almost impossible to get through without constant interruptions. If you want to go on a relaxed bike ride, look at alternative routes.

This tour is very easy to do by bike as there is very little sand on the route.

Part of the route is quite easy to ride, but there are a number of paths that are really only accessible with a mountain bike. Very difficult for trekking bikes. The flowering heath is fantastic, but cycling is a disaster. Lots of bumps, lots of thick sand that is almost impossible to get through. Cycling here is absolutely no fun if, as mentioned, you don't have a mountain bike. The route from Schneverdingen to Wilsede and Undeloh is definitely not to be done at the weekend. Hardly any chance of getting through, as there is only one path for pedestrians and one for cyclists. Cycling is hardly possible here, as the road in Wilsede cannot be used either, as horse-drawn carriages full of tourists come here like a string of pearls. It's a shame, but it is definitely not a nice bike ride.
