The Heidegarten is very easy to reach by bike, a small lookout tower provides an overview.

This beautifully landscaped heather garden adorns a lavishly and lovingly designed roundabout, which grows around 150,000 garden heather plants. So it makes sense to get an overview of this impressive plantation splendor from the viewing platform. Highly recommended is also the participation in a two-hour guided hike, which includes a visit to the ever publicly accessible Heidegartens.

An arboretum (Latin arbor "tree") is a collection (not growing in planters) of various, often exotic woody plants; This can be, for example, a botanical garden in which mainly trees and shrubs are planted. One speaks of a Fruticetum, if only bushes are planted. If only conifers are planted in an arboretum, it is called Pinetum. In Russian-speaking areas, the term Dendrarium is used instead of "Arboretum".

The Heidegarten is a freely accessible area. Here you can admire the variety of different heaths. By now you can see about 180 different heath species with about 150,000 plants.
The aerial view of the roundabout is particularly good.

This bike tour is just fantastic. I can only recommend it. There is only one small obstacle. This is the one-way street regulation into the Pietzmoor, if you drive like I did. But then you drive to the next parallel path. Then it works. The route is very easy to drive. Sand spot now and then, you can still drive through easily (3-5 meters long).
