Both in Google Maps and in the cyclist highlights, the remains of the wall here are described as part of the old GDR border installations. The original course of the wall continued in a south-easterly direction and parallel to the railway embankment. The course, which was later straightened for the sake of "clarity", led along Schützenstrasse and further along Am Bürgerpark street. The course can be seen at: berlin.de/mauer/mauerweg/stadtroute/hermsdorf-wollankstrasse.
