The building Basteistraße 18 (also Villa Deichmann) is a villa in Rüngsdorf, a district of the Bonn district of Bad Godesberg, which was built from 1900 to 1902. It lies above the bank of the Rhine (Von-Sandt-Ufer) at the end of a branch road leading from the Basteistraße. The villa as well as the opposite Deichmann'sche Remise are listed as monuments. The villa was built as a summer house based on a design by the architect and court architect Ernst von Ihne for the client Otto Deichmann (1838–1911), a Cologne banker. Otto Deichmann was one of the partners in the Deichmann & Compagnie bank. Before the building was constructed, a lining wall was first built in August 1899. Following the building application from October 1899, building permission for the villa, including a gatehouse and an access road, was granted in March 1900.
