  • The Rodderberg is a volcano. In contrast to the Siebengebirge on the other side of the Rhine, the volcanic building has been preserved as a landscape. This is due to the lower age: While the large Siebengebirge volcano, 25 million years old, was heavily eroded, the Rodderberg volcano, which is less than 800,000 years old, has almost been preserved in its original form.
