Very nice place with great views of the Rhine and the Rhine Valley. Recommendation: Do not go on weekends in fine weather. It is too crowded.

The Drachenfels, no matter what the season, is always worth a visit. Runherum there are several career opportunities. A cog railway will also bring you up or down.

Nice ascent from the south, on small quiet paths through the vineyard and the forest.
Start from Drachenfelsstr. in Bad Honnef directly under the Drachenfels

From Petersberg to Stenzelberg. Very interesting rocks. Great for kids. Around the Nonnenstromberg less exhausting.

You can do it, the view is great, but it is natural, and not surprisingly crowded, if you go to the weekend in the summer. If you do not like it, stay away or go on a weekday in spring or autumn. If you want, you can visit the Drachenfels but you will be alone in the woods after less than 20 minutes.

Danger. Eselsweg is currently closed (October 2017). The small detour is worthwhile. The view is terrific.

Absolutely do everything on foot. The train ride is of course easy, but you miss the views into nature .... Walk on ....!
