Purd is located in the southern Hückeswagen and is the namesake of the Purder Bach, which flows into the Great Dhünntalsperre after the confluence with the Große Dhünn brook.
The Purder Bach has its source at Hückeswagen and is about 6.1 km long. The course of the Purder Brook ends about 135 meters below its source. The whole valley is a water protection area.
