The Wiestalklamm, also called Almbachklamm, is the 1.6 kilometer long narrow valley of the Almbach between the Wiestal reservoir and the Wiestal compensation basin. It is considered a section of particular scenic beauty and is one of the few gorges in the dolomite rock of the Alps. The valley section is s-shaped and is partly bordered by almost vertical rock walls. Primarily for aesthetic reasons, the gorge has been under protection as a natural monument 00126 Wiestal gorge with an area of 12.6 hectares since 1974.
