The Romanian Orthodox Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is particularly interesting for the paintings and icons inside. Some believe that individual icons weep because water, whose source is unknown, keeps accumulating beneath them. Anyone near the church at night on June 29, the feast day of St. Peter and St. Paul, should look up to heaven: Legend says that at midnight on that night, the heavens open, and you can see St. Peter sitting at the table next to God. We were there in August, so we didn't have a chance to witness this miracle.
