A small area - that the whole family can enjoy. The Bismarck Tower offers a wonderful view of both the Ruhr area and Elfringhauser Switzerland. If on the bike tours through the surrounding forests, due to the strong terrain dynamics, you already have the impression of being in the mountains rather than in the middle of German somewhere, this impression is confirmed with the view from above. The big cities can only be guessed at, even if you discover Schalke-Arena immediately.
The small leisure area around the Bismarck tower not only offers children fun in the high-wire climbing garden, adults will also find their challenges there. Not everyone dares to "tarzan" through the branches at a dizzying height. But a thorough briefing (also in English) by the climbing professionals creates trust. We have already explored quite a few climbing parks, but we have never met such sophisticated safety technology anywhere.
The beer garden gastronomy is freshly renovated and offers space inside even in inconsistent weather. The food is freshly prepared and even the burgers taste non-industrial.
The journey by bike is possible in different ways with different degrees of difficulty. The MTB route is interrupted by pasture fences over which you have to lift the bike - the passage for pedestrians is too narrow for bicycles. On the beautiful downhill section, you can really let it rip on the unpaved forest path.
