No other artist's name is so closely connected to Eisenstadt as that of Joseph Haydn. The great composer was born on March 31, 1732 in Rohrau in Lower Austria. In 1761, Haydn entered the service of Prince Esterházy in Eisenstadt and turned the former court orchestra into a respected orchestra with top musical talent. The composer worked at the Esterházy court for 30 years and created a multitude of wonderful works during this time.
