The old Jewish cemetery in Eisenstadt is located on Wertheimergasse in the municipality of Eisenstadt in Burgenland. The Jewish cemetery is a listed building.

History: The oldest known dating of a stone in the cemetery refers to the year 1679. This is the tombstone of Hirz Kamen, who died on July 3, 1679 (23rd Tammuz 5439). In 1875 the cemetery was fully occupied. At the end of August 1875, a new area for the "younger Jewish cemetery" was purchased. An inventory in 1922 revealed 1,140 tombstones with only Hebrew inscriptions. In 2010 there were 1104 tombstones in the cemetery.

Rabbi Meir Eisenstadt: The most important and well-known tombstone on the "older Jewish cemetery" is that of Rabbi Meir Eisenstadt, born around 1670 in Posen, died on June 7th, 1744 (27th Siwan 5504). His most famous work is the response collection "Panim Me’irot" (Shining Face). The grave site is on E-35.

The east. In 2015, the Jewish Museum gave each tombstone a new location number. Each tombstone can be clearly identified both with the QR code and with lists provided on the information board, sometimes with a very detailed biographical note.
