Located at a crossroads, the vantage point offers, in addition to a rest bench, a view across the vegetation from the Fleckertshöhe to Holzfeld and some places on the right bank of the Rhine on the Rheingau-Taunus-Höhen.

A nice panoramic view and a good foretaste of the even nicer views that follow on the Rheingold Dream Loop.

        Lime kiln lookout point

The name lime kiln is self-explanatory. As early as the 17th century, lime was burned in the area of today's lime kiln, which was used as a binding agent for mortar. The calcareous clay, which is abundant in the source area of the Tempusbach valley to the south, was used as the raw material. The clay deposits on the terraces of the Rhine Valley can be traced back to the Ice Ages. During the Ice Ages, the Rhine hardly carried any water and the frosts pulverized the calcareous gravel that the Rhine carried with it from the Alps. Strong winds blew the eroded lime material that was deposited as clay on the Rhine terraces. Wood from the nearby western forest above the lime kiln was used as fuel for the lime burning.
