After repeated changes of ownership, its last location was in Hüllstede, near Westerstede. There, after it was decommissioned in 1958, it threatened to decay and was moved to the open-air museum in Bad Zwischenahn in 1960 for preservation.
The mill has a functional grinding mill for crushing grain and a roller mill used for oil production.
