Moor Soil Station Kayhausen

In Bad Zwischenahner Moor, more precisely in Kayhausen, is Lower Saxony's only "Moor ground station" so far. The “Moor soil station” was set up as a joint project of the environmental education center and the Lower Soil Protection Authority of the Ammerland district, the Kurbetriebsgesellschaft Bad Zwischenahn mbH and the Bad Zwischenahn Association for Home Care.The individual layers of the bog are clearly visible here on a bog wall that has just been cut. An information board shows the exact age of the respective soil layer and important events in contemporary history. The topic and the special habitat of the moor are brought closer to the visitors.
