Prince Karl von Leiningen built a small hunting lodge here in 1828 - and named it after the "Emichsburg" near Bockenheim in the Palatinate. In 1830 the palace was given a tower-like structure and received its castle-like appearance. The "Emichsburg" was no longer inhabited as early as 1840 and was demolished from 1844.
All that remains of the wall is the stump of the tower.
The hunting lodge and shed later erected on the foundation walls of the property have also fallen into disrepair - a "ruin within a ruin", so to speak.
