In 1896, Alexander Blum, Josef Rank and Karl Stöhr built the theater in the neo-baroque style, which was initially called the "Feenpalast". In addition to a theater hall with 1679 seats, the building complex also contained a smaller event hall, the "Silbersaal", restaurants, a café, numerous shops and 30 apartments.Source and more info

The Deutsches Theater opened its doors in Schwanthalerstrasse for the first time in 1896. Initially, it was used for variety shows and folk shows. The musical made its debut in Munich in 1961 with the European premiere of "West Side Story". After five years of renovation, the theater reopened in January 2014. The municipal German Theater in Munich presents musicals and shows in the theater hall and celebrates carnival with galas, balls and costume parties.
