Ca' Scarpa is an exhibition space operated by the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche. Not a museum, but an open space that draws primarily on the cultural legacy and inspiration of Carlo and Tobia Scarpa, deeply rooted in the history and landscape of Treviso.

The building we see today took shape in the second half of the 16th century, within a vast complex encompassing the older Benedictine monastery of Ognissanti and the monastery of Santa Maria Nova, with the church of the same name. This balance was disrupted during the Napoleonic era due to the suppression of religious orders and the transformation of the space, first into a military hospital and then into barracks. The church thus underwent several functional adaptations with the construction of attics and internal partitions, assuming a configuration that remained unchanged even when, under the Kingdom of Italy, it was turned into barracks, and was not damaged by the bombs of the First and Second World Wars.

The project to adapt the complex to house the Revenue Office was born in the postwar period. In the 1980s, the church was emptied of its 19th- and 20th-century superstructures and its original walls were restored to house the three-story metal structure of a new "printed goods warehouse," more functional and stable than the previous one.

In 2010, following the relocation of the Revenue Office's offices, the space remained abandoned until its acquisition by Edizione Property in 2018. The former Church of Santa Maria Nova was the first of the buildings in the complex to be restored and returned to the city under the name Ca' Scarpa, following a restoration project by architect Tobia Scarpa, who chose to preserve and integrate the recently constructed iron structure inside the church.
