The Wendelstein lock is a chamber lock with straight chamber walls. The lock has a usable length of 46.00 meters. It is 5.70 meters wide. The fall height is on average about 1.80 meters. To close the lock chamber serve Stetzen gates, which are opened and closed by gate bars and a mechanical drive. The lock was approved for ships up to a length of about 46 meters, which corresponds to today no longer common Unstrutmaß (Wikipedia).
