Wonderful wild valley with what feels like untouched nature. The path partly follows the old Trift Canal.

Forestry penetrated ever deeper into the Inner Bavarian Forest in the 18th century. For the Holztrift, stream banks were fortified, canals and chutes were built. In 1860, the Reschbachklause was built at the foot of the Siebensteinkopf, at an altitude of 1130 meters. The dam is 36 meters long and builds up the Reschbach at a maximum depth of five meters. The length of the lake is 215 meters. With the end of the Holztrift in the 1950s, the Klausen lost their actual function. The national park maintains the Klause as a cultural monument, which also provides a habitat for certain, sometimes rare, animals and plants.
