Seßlach has never seen anyone who thinks Rothenburg ob der Tauber is the crown of the Middle Ages. The enchanted little town hidden behind ancient walls may be a bit smaller and less known, but it has remained authentic. A truly cinematic setting with a unique flair and pretty inns. The idyllic cityscape has served repeatedly as a film set in recent years, for example in the film about the reformer Martin Luther or in 2005 in a film adaptation of the children's book "Der Räuber Hotzenplotz".

The old town of Seßlach is still almost completely surrounded by its late medieval wall. Unusually, the loose turrets on the wall crown instead of a battlement. The three gate towers have been preserved. The fortification of the town of Würzburg was built in the 14th / 15th. Century and was expanded in the 16th and 17th centuries. In front of the Rothenberger Tor, a baroque arch bridge completes the historic ensemble.
