In the 19th century, the pond contributed to the Abbey Park's function as a spa. Later, residents came to sail there, and in the 1970s, it evolved into a fishpond.
Today, there are no fish left, and over 4,000 m³ of sludge was removed. The retaining wall was repaired, the parapet replaced, and a wooden platform was installed. Now it's up to nature. Thanks to several springs, the pond is filled completely naturally and without human intervention. It's the ideal spot to spot frogs, dragonflies, and many other species.
