Walk in Cologne's City Forest - Around the Zoo and the City Forest Pond
Description:
This leisurely walk through Cologne's City Forest is ideal for a short stroll or a relaxing afternoon stroll in the countryside. The starting point is the area near the Leonardo Hotel on Dürener Straße, from where you enter the city forest directly. The path leads around the idyllic City Forest Pond, past shady tree-lined avenues, large meadows, and the popular Lindenthal Zoo with its goats, deer, and peacocks.
The route is mostly flat, easy to walk, and also suitable for strollers or older walkers. Along the way, there are numerous benches to rest and beautiful views of the water and the surrounding nature. The tour is particularly worthwhile in spring and autumn for the diverse colors and tranquil atmosphere in the heart of the city.
At the end of the walk, the Café am Weiher or the restaurant in the Leonardo Hotel invite you to take a short break.
Length: approx. 2.5–3 km
Duration: approx. 45–60 minutes
