The Adenauer Weiher is within earshot of the RheinEnergieStadion - separate from Junkersdorfer Straße. During the home games of 1. FC Köln you can listen to the fan chants by the lake. Otherwise, the Adenauer Weiher in the eastern part of the city forest is leisurely. From the Club Astoria excursion restaurant, your gaze is drawn to the impressive panorama of the pond.

A path for walking or jogging circles the approximately six-hectare lake on the edge of the Lindenthal district. Then there are some meadows. From here one arrives at the also artificially created Decksteiner Weiher and the adjacent Jahnwiese with the monument of the gymnastics father Jahn, inaugurated in 1928.

The pond was created in the course of the expansion of the city forest in the 1920s. It was named after the then Lord Mayor of Cologne, Konrad Adenauer. During his tenure from 1917 to 1933, he promoted modern urban planning with more opportunities for recreation. People without employment helped with the implementation: the city wanted to lower unemployment with a program for emergency work.

At the Adenauer Weiher you can get some fresh air while going for a walk. For many joggers, the pond is a popular running route, and cyclists like to stop there and then continue through the city forest.
