🚜 Spurensuche Strunde: Von der Quelle bis zur (ehemaligen) Mündung
Heute haben wir die Strunde, deren Wasser einst mehrere Dutzend Mühlen nutzten, von ihrer Quelle im Bergischen bis zu ihrer ehemaligen Mündung in den Rhein begleitet. Ehemalig, da die Strunde früher von Buchheim an kanalisiert war und unterirdisch bis zum Rhein geleitet wurde. Inzwischen wird sie in den kreuzenden Faulbach geleitet, da das Einleiten in den Kanal gesetzlich untersagt ist. Das leere Bachbett der Strunde in Buchheim ist noch sichtbar. Der Strunder Bach entspringt eigentlich auf einem Waldstück in Eikamp, aber da dort ohnehin kein Weg vorbeiführt, sind wir an etwa 1 km entfernten, eingefassten Strundequelle in Herrenstrunden gestartet. In Bergisch Gladbach ist der Bach teils verrohrt, taucht aber immer mal wieder auf. Unzählige Male haben wir heute den Bach überquert, oft ist er uns in Straßennamen oder Gasthausnamen begegnet, viel haben wir über ehemalige Mühlen lesen können.
