Ascent Through the Ibental to St. Peter

The driveway through the Ilbental is one of the most beautiful on which you can reach St. Peter.
And a special highlight - the asphalt is completely new (2019 !!). Outstanding. Last year, the asphalt in the upper area was still pretty bad.

The quietest variant between St. Peter and the Dreisamtal. Very little traffic and a small idyllic street. The last kilometers before St. Peter, however, the road rises significantly and becomes an uphill climb.

If you ride a bike with gravel tolerance, you can leave the currently (09/2020) fine asphalt at the end of the valley and switch to a fairly steep and rather coarse gravel forest road for a good kilometer, which leads you to the upper Ibental, where you will soon be back on good asphalt roads either to St. Peter or towards St. Märgen.
