A hotel has stood on this spot since the 1800's when it was built and named by the British. Sitting in incredible surroundings, it provides a stark contrast to the wilderness.
Currently, it's not operating as a hotel, though the current owners are hoping to re-open in February 2019. if you head a little north over the river, you'll find a beautiful wild camping spot with room for 6-10 tents and fresh running water.
There is a bar located on Kings House land where you can get a simple hot meal and a selection of drinks.
This is usually the end of a leg on the West Highland Way, and there is a deserved refreshment at this beautiful hotel before the taxi takes you to Clencoe for your B & B.
