Really great laid out and in a very nice corner of the forest. It is almost tempting to spend an outdoor weekend there, but with so much love in detail you then think better of it and just enjoy the atmosphere.

Francesko Regali, called Dachsenfranz, fled to Kraichgau in the 19th century after the Italian War of Independence, after having probably killed a superior in an argument.
After a later understanding of a homeless man who lived in self-dug earth caves and shelters, he was in the region as traps and pest controllers in farms and mills, which he freed from rat and mouse plagues.
After the outbreak of the First World War, he disappeared.
The history of the Dachsenfranz is part of the regional folklore of the Kraichgau. For example, a beer brand of the brewery "Adler Bräu" was named after him, meanwhile the brewery was renamed Dachsenfranz Biermanufaktur GmbH & Co KG. In Zuzenhausen the "Dachsenfranzfest" took place every two years until 2016, a folk festival with a historical character.
