From the bridgehead, you not only get an overview of the hotels and guesthouses in the immediate vicinity, but the view extends westward beyond the city. To the east, Germany's oldest seaside resort, Heiligendamm, shines in white, and you can follow the coastline all the way to Nienhagen with the naked eye.

This pier was built in 1991 in the Ost district. It is 240 meters long and axially aligned with Strandstraße. The pier is located directly on Germany's longest Baltic Sea beach promenade, at approximately 3.2 kilometers, and was the first new pier built on the Mecklenburg Baltic coast. It is considered one of the town's landmarks and is one of a total of 189 piers in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
