The Lindenpark is a historically grown and yet constantly changing green space. The park is bordered by Dünenstaße, Lindenstraße and Fischersteig and is surrounded by a double-row avenue of summer linden trees, which were planted in 1908. From 1925 onwards, a major gardening redesign took place with a network of paths and geometric areas, with roses, privet and 2 roundels. A turning point occurred in the years after 1940. Due to the war, the park was converted to allotment gardening. In the period of upheaval after 1945, fallen Soviet soldiers were buried on the grounds of the Lindenpark, then still called "Karl-Marx-Platz", near the Soviet command post. In 1949, these resting places were reburied. Since then, they have been located in the honorary cemetery in Rostock.
The historic tennis house, which can still be seen in the Lindenpark today, opened around 1908.

After reconstruction and renewal in 2015, the entire Lindenpark is now close to its original state and shows its historical references. The trees have been inspected and are being cared for, and 33 benches of the old "Kühlungsborn type" are located at historical locations. To set a new, central accent, an artistic fountain was created and inaugurated in May 2016.
This fountain is located in the middle of the larger roundabout, protected by 11 old linden trees. The circular water basin with a diameter of 10 m offers interesting views - because some of the mysterious legends of Kühlung have found their place here. The design was made by the well-known artist Wolfgang Friedrich.
