The Rotthäuser Bachtal is one of the most beautiful (if not the most beautiful) area around Dusseldorf. I go there at least four times a year a certain tour there, in every season ... it always looks different ... so who does not live too far away from D`dorf should not miss that. --- >>> TOP TIP ... :-)))

Im Rotthäuser Bachtal kommen seltene Pflanzen und Tierarten vor: Als typischer Bewohner der Schilfflächen kann man zum Beispiel den Teichrohrsänger und die Rohrammer entdecken, an den Teichen finden sich Libellen wie die "Blaugrüne Mosaikjungfer" und an den steilen Bachufern brütet der Eisvogel. Auch die Pflanzenwelt ist artenreich vertreten, darunter auch nach der "Roten Liste" bedrohte Pflanzen, wie der Riesen Schachtelhalm oder die Brunnenkresse. Die Aktivitäten im Rahmen der FFH-Richtlinien konzentrieren sich auf die Förderung der Arten, wie dem Eisvogel, dem Schwarzspecht, dem Wespenbussard und dem Teichrohrsänger.Der Schutz und die Entwicklung dieses Gebietes schließen auch die Lebensräume der "Kulturlandschaft" mit ein. So sind zum Beispiel die Fischteiche von hohem Wert für Flora und Fauna, wenn sie über Flachwasserzonen verfügen. Die Teiche dienten ursprünglich der Karpfenzucht. Die intensive Fischzucht führte aber durch die Fütterung und die Ausscheidungen der Fische zu einer starken Überdüngung des Baches. Der Bach wird durch Teiche unterbrochen: Im fließenden Wasser lebende Fischarten, Kleinkrebse und Insektenlarven können den Bach nicht mehr entlang wandern. Hier setzen Projekte der Landschaftsentwicklung an. Einige Teiche wurden von der Stadt naturnah umgebaut.

Der wesentlich steilere Osthang lässt sich ideal vom Landgasthof Kaiserhaus durchwandern. Im Gegensatz zum Hubbelrather Bachtal ist hier das Grundgebirge bereits tief in den Untergrund abgetaucht. Die Ostflanke besteht aus den typischen gelben Meeressanden. Die weichen Sandschichten sind stellenweise von tiefen Erosionsrinnen durchzogen. Das abgespülte Material findet sich dann meist an der Talsohle als Aufschüttung wieder. An vielen Stellen im Tal entdeckt man wie im gesamten Düsseldorfer Osten alte Rheinablagerungen in Form von zumeist hellen Kieselsteinen.Der Naturschutz im Rotthäuser Bachtal ist übrigens "grenzüberschreitend". Das Gebiet geht nahtlos in das auf dem Gebiet des Kreises Mettmann gelegene Morper Bachtal über, das ebenfalls als Naturschutzgebiet ausgewiesen wurde. Zusammen bilden Morper und Rotthäuser Bachtal einen Baustein im europäischen Schutzgebietssystem Natura 2000.

The valley is beautiful. I have had my horses there for over 10 years and know the valley inside out. For all nature lovers always worth a trip, in any weather and every season.

The Rotthäuser Bachtal is really very beautiful 😊.For those who want to orientate themselves on the exact route section of this highlight: The pictures currently best rated are mostly from Gut Papendelle, which is located south of the marked route section.

After a forest-rich beginning of the tour, the view and soul open up in the vastness of the valley, rich in natural beauty, along with a romantic farmstead and a rich valley, before continuing on natural forest paths.

The Rotthäuser Bachtal has been under nature protection since 1984.
What is special about the valley is its wetlands, the stream that gave it its name, its springs, the numerous fish ponds and extensive reed beds. In addition there are valuable alder, ash and softwood floodplain forests as well as grove-beech forests. This shows a diverse and varied landscape in a small space.

Can you only estimate on the spot how beautiful it is there: you cannot determine the smells, the colors, the silence and space on a picture ...

A beautiful brook valley with several springs that feed the brook and biotopes. Large abraded areas were home to rare bird and animal species. On the Neandertalsteig there is an opportunity to walk beautiful hiking trails and go up and down on a mount bike.

The Rotthäuser Bachtal is practically around the corner with me.
Especially in the last few months, however, there are some large beech fell over, so I go there only on foot, after rainfall best with rubberized hiking boots.
I've seen some mountain bikers desperate there.

The most beautiful area around Dusseldorf ... although I was already at least 100 x hiking there and also walking tours with several begesterten guests led I still discover new small trails ... no hike in the Rotthäuser resembles ... TOP area: -)))

Secluded, quiet and really quiet place, hidden behind railways, expressways and city that seems far away. The yard is beautiful, the lake is beautiful. The valley offers absolute retreat for every kind of city child.

A beautiful green valley with lots of water and narrow hiking trails. However, the GPS reception and the supply of mobile communications sometimes leave a lot to be desired.
