In addition to the native tree species, Giant sequoia trees (Sequoiadendron giganteum), imported from North America, grow on the Betzenberg. After this tree species had only been discovered by the Europeans in 1850, King William I had seeds brought to Europe and sowed in the Wilhelma. In the cold winter of 1879/80, however, most of these trees froze, the few remaining were distributed among others on Betzenberg. Among them are three specimens, which are located 1.2 km southeast of the village Glashütte am Waldwegabzweig the Siebenbuchenwasensträßchen from Dettenhäuser Weg at the forest hut Weißes Häusle directly next to each other.
