Ambassador CHARLES E. COBB and his wife let design "COOPERATION" as a gift to commemorate 50 years political union between Iceland and the United States.

In this half century, from 1941 to 1991, there has been close cooperation between the two nations on many issues of common interest.

At the initiative of the COBB couple was the same sculpture built on a bay in South Florida, where the endless flow of The Gulf Stream connects these two works of art together.

The Partnership Statue by Pétur Bjarnason here commemorates 50 years of diplomatic cooperation between the USA and Iceland. An identical copy can also be found in Miami, Florida (USA).
