Free entrance. The pillars have stood in the water of the lake since the 1990s. The building is an architectural success in a controversial location. The modern town hall was built in 1992 directly on Lake Tjörnin. The design is by the architects Margrét Hardardóttir and Steve Christer. On the ground floor there is a café.
