The small village of Wollseifen was forcibly cleared by British forces after World War II and turned into a military training area. Only three buildings of the original village are still preserved. The former schoolhouse now has a small worthwhile exhibition on the history of the village.

The Wollseifen desert is a evacuated village that had to give way to a military training area after the Second World War.
Located very close to the former Nazi order castle Vogelsang, it is a good memorial against militarism and the war.

Wollseifen was once supposed to be developed into an "Aryan" model village during the Nazi era due to its proximity to the Vogelsang training center for Nazi cadres. Fortunately, these plans were never realized. After the end of the war, the residents had to evacuate the village within a few days. More than 500 residents suddenly lost their homes. Wollseifen became part of the Belgian military training area and was completely destroyed during maneuvers and exercises, except for the church and one other building. Information boards explain the history of the village.
