... „Our tree for Bielefeld” 🌳 a really
great and successful fundraising campaign for „tree replanting” on the
Bielefeld Promenade!!! 🌳👍🌳 ... initiated by the
Environmental Companies of the City of Bielefeld with the Bielefeld Community
Foundation, 89 Pedunculate Oaks were planted with the donations!!! ... the
donors were named on two steles placed in an exposed location, as requested!!!

... the old ash avenue on the Bielefelder Promenade partly still dated from the time of the "Seven Years' War" in the mid-18th
century!!! ... the ashes heavily infested by the fungus (Weißes Stängelbecherchen) and diseased had to be felled and were replaced by donated Turkey oaks from autumn 2018 onwards!!! 🌳 ... the Turkey oak was deliberately chosen for this location due to its resistance to drought and dry, stony soils!!! ... For a long time, an avenue of ash trees lined this wide path. However, some of the trees were infected with the fungus "white stem cup." The trees died and had to be felled. In a joint campaign by the environmental agency and the Bielefeld Citizens' Foundation, donations for the new trees were called for: "Our Tree for Bielefeld." Within a very short time, donors were found for all the trees – individuals, companies, and families. In total, around 90 young sessile oaks were planted on the promenade.
