Because of its exposed location also called the "Eye of Alsace".
The Devil's Bridge connects the two southern castle rocks.
Worth seeing is the castle chapel, renovated in the 19th century.
    Castle ruin is freely accessible.
Gastronomy on the castle grounds is available.

Very large castle above Saverne with fantastic views over the Vosges and the Rhine Valley. In good weather, the castle is visible from Strasbourg Cathedral. The summit of the rocks can be reached by stairs, with a catwalk called the "Devil's Bridge" connecting two of these rocks. The castle is managed - there is a restaurant. The castle can be visited without admission.

From here you have a very beautiful panoramic view towards the Black Forest, North Vosges and towards Odilienberg. 👌👌😍
