Historic pier along the river in Coloane Village. Before Cotai (reclaimed land) and several bridges connected Coloane Island to Taipa in the north, ferries were the only way to get around. The current building was built in 1873 in a simple European style typical for the colonial time.
Today ferry services are still offered from Coloane to Taipa. Across the river you can see Hengqin Pier, bu there is NO ferry service across to Hengqin Island, as it is Mainland China and both ferry piers do not have immigration services.
