The theatre is part of the Historic Center of Macau and on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
It was built in 1860 and was named after the King of Portugal Pedro V, whe reigned from 1853 to 1861. It was the first western style theater in China and to this day is still used as a venue - though only for special and important events.
But it is open to visitors during the day.
