The city museum is located in the old post office and is quite winding. In principle, it covers the entire upper floor, but also includes the historic cellar. The museum's exhibition varies between extremely informative and extremely interesting and quite confusing and unmanageable. In theory, the exhibition rooms are arranged chronologically, but there are rather confusing jumps in themes. Only in the Middle Ages do you suddenly find yourself in the time when the dukes ruled. When and how this came about is not really clear. The history of the city seems a bit bumpy on site.

But then again very informative rooms that deal with crafts or the history of the surrounding places. Finally, the museum deals with the Dark Countess. She is still a mystery today and the museum briefly shows many theories, as well as a short excerpt from a documentary.

With the low entrance fee, a visit is definitely worth it. You need to plan at least 1 1/2 hours for it if you want to read a lot.

Unfortunately, the museum currently has limited opening hours. It is no longer open on Saturdays.
