Not all parts of Hildburghausen's city center are really worth seeing, but the market square is a lovely place to spend time with chic houses - most notably the castle-like town hall. Several cafes, restaurants and snack bars invite you to linger. One positive thing is that even in the afternoons there is hot food here, at very reasonable prices and of good quality. Delicious ice cream sundaes and cakes are also available.
